The main goal of the Paintball Bunker sport is to eliminate the players of the opposing team. A key strategy for eliminating an opponent is bunkering. This happens when you go after an opponent and shoot him from behind his paintball bunker. This is a very useful strategy to get rid of the opponent's players one by one. But before you bunker, there are precautions that you have to take note of. Here are some of the tips for effective bunkering.

Bunker if the other team has one or two players left and if your team is on the advantage. The guys from the other team will most likely hide and will not be able to identify the whereabouts of the guys from your side. This way, you will have a better chance of getting closer while your teammates are backing you up.

Bunkering is also useful to get opponents hiding behind the paintball bunker out. There are instances when your opponent will just hide and won't shoot. Shooting them from afar will only waste your paint and gas.

Let your teammates shoot the target to keep him behind the paintball bunker. Once his hiding, get out of yours, make sure that you are not seen. Run fast but make as little noise as possible. If you think that you are close enough to your target, make sure that you have a clear view. The number of hits depends on the kind of game you play. If the game only requires one hit, then make few accurate shots. You can take down more guys if the other team has not noticed what you are up to. But if they do, stay behind the paintball bunker and let your teammates help you out.

You can also bunker if your team is on the losing end or you have nothing to lose like being low in gas or paint. If you think that there's a big chance that you will be eliminated, you might as well bring down as many guys as you can. Although you might be out of the game, your teammates will surely be thankful to you.

Effective Bunkering to Outwit Your Opponent

It is not advisable to bunker immediately after you have assessed the situation. You have to communicate your bunkering plans to your teammates. In conveying your plan, avoid voicing them out because the other team might hear. Keep in mind that bunkering and the element of surprise work hand in hand. The other team should not know what is headed their way or else you're in big trouble. Convey your plans through signals and let your teammates disseminate it throughout your troop. It is important that they are aware who among the opponents you want to bunker. So that they will have a focus.
